International Champions Cup Man Utd v Liverpool

Two of England’s biggest teams go head to head in the fiery pre-season match. It can’t be classed as a friendly. It wont be. These are two fierce rivals who want domestic and international glory.

This season for Man Utd has started very brightly with Van Gaal as manager and looks to be re-building a squad that will at least get back into the Top 4 when the domestic BPL season gets underway on the 16th August (Saturday). Liverpool have strengthened their squad albeit seeing their main striker Suarez leave to join Barcelona FC. But with new signings and a very talented manager, Liverpool will look to consolidate their status in the BPL and consistently show UCL nights for the Liverpool faithful in front of the Kop End.

Both of these teams go into this game with good form and preparation. This game will either be a 1-0 result or a game full of goals. With both teams looking more sharper with every match, this game will not an ordinary pre-season game. This game will look to be a fiery battle that we would expect as a league or cup game.

Can Liverpool exploit Man Utd’s young defence and use their fluid play to dictate the match or will Van Gaal continue to show this quality by tactically outsmarting Rodgers?

I am hoping for a cracking game in Miami, at the Sun Life Stadium. Enjoy the game. Especially the neutrals.

Man Utd came back from a poor first half display to score 3 second half goals against Liverpool and take home the International Champions Cup. The result was 3-1 to Man Utd with goals from Rooney, Mata and Lingard. A nice way for Utd fans to finish their tour of the US and continue to prepare for their opening Premier League game. Liverpool will be disappointed they did not score another goal with their dominant first half and will look to correct that, to ensure they have another successful domestic campaign.
