Eto’o to Chelsea

Have Chelsea just sorted out their striker woes?

Chelsea have completed the transfer of Samuel Eto’o from Anzhi after the owner decided to cut the club’s budget and offload some their players. Chelsea have taken advantage and have signed the Cameroon marksman who has a deadly eye for goal. Reunited with former manager, Mourinho; from his time at Inter, he has signed the striker on a one year deal.

Having played in the La Liga, Serie A and the Russian league, we can look forward to the striker now strutting his stuff in the English Premier League. With vast international and European experience, he looks to be a shrewd buy after moving on a free transfer.

I am delighted to see him come to England, as I have admired his ability in front of goal as shown during his days at Mallorca, Barcelona and Inter. Hopefully, with the support from Oscar, Hazard and et all, he will be firing goals in England if he becomes Mourinho’s number one striker. With the recent transfers, it looks like Chelsea want to make sure they reach the further stages in the UCL than last season and challenge for the BPL.

Three words for Eto’o. Welcome to England!! ;D

Willian to Chelsea?

Well well, looks like Chelsea are splashing the cash and look to have tied up the deal for Anzhi’s Willian.
The 25 year old is understood to have agreed terms and completed his medical and is now awaiting a work permit so he can join the Europa League Winners.

However, I am very confused why Chelsea have bought Willian. With Lampard, Mikel, Essien, Ramires and Luiz able to play in CM with Chelsea favouring a 4-2-3-1 formation. With all these players all wanting first team football, plus Van Ginkel waiting for his opportunity, have Chelsea just gone crazy for the fun of it.

We all know they are owned by a rich Oligarch called Abramovich, but who actually wants him? Roman or Jose?

With Lampard willing to play until he is 40 and the other players mentioned wanting first team football, I really can’t see this going well.
With Van Ginkel, Lucas Piazon and Thorgan Hazard waiting in the wings to grab their opportunity too, these guys will not be happy they are competing for limited positions.
For those who think Mikel should leave, they should see his performances in the Africa Cup of Nations where he orchestrated the tempo for Nigeria as a more attacking player and guided them to ACN trophy as captain. Never had the opportunity to show his worth at Chelsea. It shows that money seems to talk too much for players now.

Have fun whoever has to stay on the bench at Chelsea 😉
