UEFA U19 Women’s My Top Five Players

This is my pick of the five players I managed to see during the tournament. No order of preference.

1. Elizabeth Durack – Made several crucial saves in the final and was always in great form starting with her heroics in England’s first group game. Has the potential to be a great GK. Also good awareness when passing the ball from the back.

2. Ghoutia Karchouni – A talented player who can pass the ball with either foot. Assured in possession and good at breaking up danger. She reminds me of Claude Makelele, starting attacks from deep and providing the back four with good protection. Potential to play for PSG senior’s womens team.

3. Martha Harris – A very bright prospect, who shone in the final. Breaking up several French attacks and assured in possession, the English right back played exceptional and provided the English back four with her composure and awareness.

4. Claire Lagovez- Instrumental in beating Germany in the semi-final and playing well in the first half in the final. She has great attacking flair and her dribbling is very pleasing to watch. Looking like French star, Louisa Necib, Lagovez can look to become a great attacking midfielder for the future.

5. Pauline Bremer- Top goalscorer at UEFA U19, she put fear into many teams. With six goals in four games, she lead the German line with her lethal finishing and looks like she will be in the senior women’s team in the near future. Yet at only 17, she looks to be a hot prospect and wont be surprised if Wolfsburg or Bayern Munich sign her up.
